Former BLACK SABBATH Members To Join WILLIE BASSE For Farmington Gig
November 20, 2008Willie Basse, who is best known as bassist/frontman for the '80s/early '90s Los Angeles-based band BLACK SHEEP, will make his headlining debut on Friday, December 5, 2008 in Farmington, New Mexico at Gators.
This KRWN radio-sponsored event (where Willie's single "(Love So) Far Away" is in heavy rotation) will mark the first live performance of Basse's touring lineup featuring former BLACK SABBATH members Geoff Nicholls (keyboards) and Bobby Rondinelli (drums),along with guitarist Mitch Perry (MSG, WAR & PEACE, EDGAR WINTER, TALAS). The band will be touring throughout 2009 in support of Willie Basse's debut album, "The Money Grind".
"We are excited about playing live with this powerful lineup and looking forward to seeing all our old fans and making a host of new ones," commented Basse.
"There will be a few surprises in the set. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see monster players up close in an intimate concert with ever-lasting memories," added keyboardist Geoff Nicholls.
Basse is best known for his role as bassist/frontman for the L.A.-based band BLACK SHEEP, who were staples of Sunset Strip during the metal explosion of the '80s. Basse has now re-grouped and released a solo album, "The Money Grind", on his own label New Empire Media. The CD is an unapologetic approach to metal and emphasizes strong song writing skills that have been put on the back burner by most modern musicians.
Willie Basse recently announced he will be recording his sophomore album in January 2009 with legendary producer Andy Johns (LED ZEPPELIN, VAN HALEN). The effort is slated for summer 2009 release through New Empire Media, which is currently scheduling release dates for a reissue of BLACK SHEEP's "Sacrifice" EP, Basse's new reality TV series "Rockstar Reality" on DVD and a "Rock For Recovery" DVD which features concert footage of BLACK SHEEP with MOTÖRHEAD.
